Preliminary Statement
This action is brought to recover from the defendants maney damages for injury
to the plaintiffs caused---by ,Intentional, reckless, grossly negligent or negligent acts and
omissions of the defendants as accountants and auditors for Mortgage Investors
Corporation, a Massachusetts corporation. The acts of the defendants, among other things,
included the delivery to the plaintiffs of audit reports which contained statements then
known or which should have been known by the defendants to be false and maJerially
misleading and to contain material omissions, with the intention of inducing the plaintiffs
to make or to keep in effect certain loans to Mortgage Investors Corporation and to
forbear from exercising their foreclosure rights and other remedies with respect to avdable
