States District Court for the Northern District of California,
No. C-96-3933-VRW.
The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that
on October 31, 1996, Judge Vaughn Walker of the United States
District Court for the Northern District of California granted
the Commission's Application for a Temporary Restraining Order
and an order freezing the financial assets of Defendant Shahryar
Soroosh ("Soroosh"). Judge Walker also entered an order granting
the Commission's request for expedited discovery and set a
hearing date of December 13, 1996 on the Commission's application
for a Preliminary Injunction and other relief. The Commission's
Application arises out of its Complaint against Soroosh filed
October 28, 1996 for alleged insider trading in the securities of
Octel Communications Corp.
